Project description

You are part of the EMFE department. Working on the group level, Everymatrix Front-End (short EMFE) is the department that manages everything related to the front-end: from some banners or the need for a logo to a fully functional, cutting-edge online casino. We are composed of 7 teams: Bespoke Team, Bespoke Team Changsha, Business Team, Operational Team, QA Team, Products Team and Widgets team. This position is open inside the Bespoke Team.

We use a wide array of technologies, and we love to stay motivated with tackling diverse projects.

You will be working mainly with React, Redux, WebPack/Vite, and NodeJS, using HTTP2 and WebSockets APIs as the transfer protocols between the server and the client. We deploy containerized apps via Docker, Kubernetes, and a continuous delivery pipeline.

It’s an exciting product (especially for us and hopefully for you) and we’re looking for people who are ready to face a challenge, analyze existing functionality and transform and adapt it into something great using the latest stack of Web technologies.

Responsibilities:

You'll be part of the core development team working on our proprietary React-based framework, aimed at efficiently delivering white-label websites. Your work will involve tackling intricate challenges such as scalability and performance, driving innovation, and significantly impacting the direction and quality of the platform.

Amongst the most important responsibilities of the role you will have are:

• Development – Adhere to task delivery timelines, providing accurate estimations and detailed tracking in Jira. Conduct comprehensive testing across devices and browsers, proactively preventing production issues.
• Code quality - Maintain and promote adherence to established coding standards, ensuring high-quality, maintainable code. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers, supporting them in achieving code quality excellence.
• Code review - Participate actively in code reviews, clearly communicating necessary improvements and explaining underlying reasons for changes.
• Refactoring – You're able to evaluate the existing codebase and can identify refactoring opportunities.
• Scalability, stability and performance - Propose and implement solutions aimed at enhancing the platform's scalability, stability, and performance.
• Code documentation - Maintain thorough and current documentation, clearly detailing code functionality and project impacts. Aim for usability, conciseness, technical reference.
• Operational - You can handle incidents according to the defined SLAs and project processes (the complexity refers to system/platform complexity, technical solution complexity or business knowledge).
• Communication - Contribute to best practices, mentoring and application knowledge within the project; maintain close collaboration with other team members as well as your Product Owner/Project Manager; participate in daily meetings with the team and identify both issues and solutions to blockers; Collect, structure, and analyze information; ensure other team members have access to the collected information; provide assistance to testing and support teams in resolving any technical issues; knowledge about how to share knowledge in many forms: feedback, presentations, recommendation of books and articles, recommendation of events, lessons learned etc.

Requirements:

• 2+ years previous experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
• Proven experience in building performant UI using React
• Proven experience with Redux, or any equivalent solution for state heavy React applications
• Proven experience with REST APIs
• Passion for learning and perfecting skills
• Ability to work in a Kanban system with fast switching priorities

• Good English, both written and spoken
• Experience with all stages of software development lifecycle
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Analytical thinking
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-changing environment
• Adapt to Open to giving and receiving feedback.
