About the job:
We are seeking a results-driven, visionary Technical Manager to join our EM Labs development team in Changsha. You will play a pivotal role in leading the development of our lottery products, shaping technical direction, and nurturing team excellence—while bridging the gap between hands-on development and strategic leadership to drive project success.
What You'll get to do:
1, Technical Leadership & Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 2-4 Java/Go developers, taking end-to-end responsibility for their professional development—including setting growth goals, providing regular feedback, conducting skill assessments, and fostering a culture of continuous learning;
Oversee and standardize development practices (coding standards, testing protocols, code review workflows) to ensure consistency, maintainability, and alignment with industry best practices;
Drive team accountability by setting clear priorities, tracking progress against milestones, and resolving blockers to keep projects on schedule and within scope;
Cultivate a collaborative, high-performance team environment that encourages knowledge sharing, innovation, and proactive problem-solving.
2, Technical Delivery & Optimization:
Lead the design, development, and enhancement of existing modules and new features for lottery products, ensuring compliance with real-time performance constraints and business requirements;
Conduct rigorous code reviews, enforce quality standards, and champion unit/functional testing to deliver robust, reliable software;
Perform application performance tuning (profiling, garbage collection optimization) and refactoring to improve scalability, efficiency, and maintainability of high-concurrency lottery systems;
Automate deployment pipelines and streamline DevOps processes (Maven, Jenkins, Gitlab, Ansible) to enhance delivery speed and reliability.
3, Cross-Team Collaboration & Strategic Contribution:
Lead technical discussions within the team and actively engage in cross-functional technical exchanges with other product teams;
Represent the team to coordinate technical dependencies, resolve inter-team challenges, and align resources, schedules, and plans with stakeholders across the organization;
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other teams to translate business needs into technical specifications and actionable development plans;
Contribute to the long-term technical roadmap, advocating for emerging technologies and architectural improvements that drive product innovation and team efficiency.
4, Cross-Team Collaboration & Strategic Contribution:
Ensure all development activities adhere to high-quality standards, security best practices, and regulatory requirements relevant to lottery products;
Implement and oversee testing strategies (unit, functional, integration) to mitigate risks and ensure product stability.
What we’re looking for:
Passionate about developing software and in love with unit and functional testing;
Committed to high level of quality;
Pro-active and pragmatic;
Have willing to learn new technologies;
Five years or more professional experience as a Java developer. Two years of more as Team Leader;
Strong experience and knowledge of object oriented software design;
Good knowledge of common data structures;
Experience with GoLang is a plus;
Experience (or at least, knowledge) with multi-threaded environments;
Experience with Junit;
Experience with JDBC, SQL/MySQL;
Experience with high scalable software and high performing components is a plus;
Experience with Spring Boot is a plus;
Experience with Apache Kafka is a plus;
Experience with Kubernetes is a plus;
Experience with BigQuery is a plus;
Experience with Maven, Jenkins, Gitlab, Ansible is a plus;
Performance Tuning & Optimization (profilers, garbage collection tuning) is a plus;
Good English. Fluent in reading and written English, good spoken and listening English is a plus.
